I have been hooked on dogs since the age of 9, when I got my first
dog and figured out ways to teach him tricks I'd seen other dogs
do on TV. Since that time, I've owned other dogs and learned more
professional training methods. I don't believe there is one best
way to train every dog because every dog is different, and every
trainer-owner is, too. I use an adaptive method that is based on
the best principles and concepts I've run across through the years.
A couple of years ago, I became frustrated with the high number
of cancelled classes due to adverse weather conditions in north
Texas while training in agility. It seemed like the only solution was
to open an indoor dog training facility that was climate-controlled
and large enough for an agility course.
Praiseworthy Pups opened July 24, 2010 with a 2-day Teacup Dogs
Agility Association (TDAA) Trial, and we held our grand opening the
following weekend. I feel gratified by the number of people and
dogs who began their training at Praiseworthy Pups and have
reached their goals and progressed to higher levels of
achievement.
