2010 Praiseworthy Pups, LLC
Melinda Meche, Instructor
My interest in animals began as a young child. We had many cats and a dog
that had 7 lives. I rode horses and participated in rodeos until the age of 12.
I have had dogs for over 20 years and learned to train them to be wonderful
pets, starting with my first Husky in 1989. In 1994, it was off to Las Vegas,
Nevada where I adopted my 2nd and 3rd Husky. In 2003, I decided to move
back to North Texas to be closer to my siblings and also adopted my 4th
Husky. Today, I have two Huskys and a Red Heeler that I rescued last year.
My love for animals, specifically dogs, lead me to consider training dogs
professionally. I saw how other people struggled to train their dogs from
running or barking or just teaching them basic manners. I love solving dog
behavior problems. In 2008 I began my dog training career along with pet
sitting and dog walking. Early this year, I decided to further my dog training
education and attended Triple Crown Academy where I studied with some
great instructors. Among other subjects we studied were dog behaviors,
how dogs learn, and about different breeds. In May 2010, I received my
degree as a Canine Training Specialist. I also attended the Grad Program
where I studied and trained dogs for Search and Rescue, Scent Detection,
Service Work, and Agility.
I am currently training with my Heeler (Kindle) to learn new tricks and
targeting of all sorts! We train in Agility and Flyball and hope to advance to a
competition level soon.
